Consumers are demanding animal proteins and products free from antibiotics.

TruGro® by Layn® feed additives have been developed as consumers demand more natural ingredients. TruGro® by Layn® offers proprietary blends of natural polyphenol-rich extracts with scientifically validated functionalities:

Poultry

Main challenges for Poultry:

Oxidation is a naturally occurring, irreversible process in which lipids in animal feed degrade over time when exposed to air. As feed degrades, it loses nutritional value and becomes rancid, affecting palatability and feed intake, which can lead to a damaging impact on animal health, immunity, nutrition and growth.

Across the world, the growing restricted use of Antibiotic Growth Promoters (AGPs) is challenging broiler producers to find new, natural solutions, without compromising performance.

Broilers will have to expend additional energy to counteract the oxidative stress caused by feed that has spoiled due to elevated intercellular levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that will cause damage to lipids, proteins and DNA.

Inflammatory syndromes may be linked to the use of unsaturated oils as energy sources in poultry feed, especially from vegetable sources. Inflammation is a natural reaction that occurs when reactive molecules from oxidized feed consumed by the broilers comes into contact with tissues in the intestinal tract that can cause damage to the tight junction proteins which serve as a protective barrier. This damage opens up a passage for toxins and microorganisms to invade the inner layers of the intestine, which can compromise the health and growth of the broil.

Our Products

THE BENEFICIAL EFFECT OF TruGro® AOX ON EXTENDING SHELF LIFE

TruGro® AOX botanical feed additive extends shelf life of poultry feed, providing critical antioxidant protection for the vast array of commonly used fats & oils so feed remains wholesome, nutritious and palatable to be consumed by broilers as part of their daily diet.

THE BENEFICIAL EFFECT OF TruGro® AR ON REPLACING AGP

TruGro® AR is a scientifically validated natural, botanical replacement for antibiotics as growth promoters.

An in vivo study with broilers determined polyphenol-rich, botanical feed additive TruGro® AR delivered performance and growth similar to that of standard AGPs commonly used in the industry – but without unwanted synthetics and chemicals.

THE BENEFICIAL EFFECT OF TruGro® GH ON BODY WEIGHT IMPROVEMENT

TruGro® GH natural, botanical feed additive improves body weight of broilers by maintaining the integrity of tight junction proteins which serve as a protective barrier between cells in the intestine to protect against the transference of toxins. This protective barrier reduces energy and protein expenditure by broilers to counteract negative effects, thereby mitigating weight loss and allocating energy toward weight gain.

THE BENEFICIAL EFFECT OF TruGro® MAX ON BODY WEIGHT AND MEAT QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

TruGro® MAX is a feed additive platform that includes natural solutions based in polyphenol rich extracts as metabolic antioxidants to improve feed efficiency and meat quality.

An in vivo study demonstrated TruGro® MAX improved broiler body weight by nearly 9%, and extended meat freshness in terms of pH levels, texture, moisture retention, and oxidative damage. Additionally, a consumer panel showed significant preference (9:1) for meat coming from poultry fed TruGro® MAX vs. the control.

Swine

Main challenges for Swine:

Oxidation is a naturally occurring, irreversible process in which lipids in animal feed degrade over time when exposed to air. As feed degrades, it loses nutritional value and becomes rancid, affecting palatability and feed intake, which can lead to a damaging impact on animal health, immunity, nutrition and growth.

Across the world, the growing restricted use of Antibiotic Growth Promoters (AGPs) is challenging pig producers to find new, natural solutions, without compromising performance.

Inflammatory syndromes may be linked to the use of unsaturated oils as energy sources in pig feed, especially from vegetable sources. Inflammation is a natural reaction that occurs when reactive molecules from oxidized feed consumed by the swine comes into contact with tissues in the intestinal tract that can cause damage to the tight junction proteins which serve as a protective barrier. This damage opens up a passage for toxins and microorganisms to invade the inner layers of the intestine, which can compromise the health and growth of the swine.

Weaning is a critical phase for young animals.  Piglets are usually weaned at the age of 3 to 4 weeks, and at this stage, their gut is not yet fully mature nor able to completely digest solid complex nutrition.  The main challenge is to stimulate feed intake in order to promote gut maturation, and thus, piglet health and growth.

Our Products

THE BENEFICIAL EFFECT OF TruGro® AOX ON EXTENDING SHELF LIFE

TruGro® AOX botanical feed additive extends shelf life of animal feed, providing critical antioxidant protection for the vast array of commonly used fats & oils so feed substrate remains wholesome, nutritious and palatable.

TruGro® GH natural, botanical feed additive improves body weight by maintaining the integrity of tight junction proteins that regulate the paracellular pathway in the intestine, and blocking the ingress of potentially damaging toxic substances. With less energy needed to combat toxins, more energy is directed toward weight gain and weight loss is mitigated.

THE BENEFICIAL EFFECT OF TruGro® SW ON STIMULATING FEED INTAKE

TruGro® SW feed additive formulated with plant-based sweeteners, naturally stimulates piglet feed intake to promote gut maturation, health and growth. A series of in vivo studies in piglets demonstrated that natural, stevia based TruGro® SW performed as well as synthetic HIS sodium saccharine.

Ruminants

Main challenges for Ruminants:

Calf transition from milk drinking to solid starter nutrition has two important economic components: 1) the cost of milk, and 2) the maturation of the calf intestine.  The sooner the calf can start eating solid nutrition, the lower the cost of feeding, and the sooner it can be bred.

Our Products

THE BENEFICIAL EFFECT OF TruGro® SW ON STIMULATING FEED INTAKE

TruGro® SW natural, plant-based sweetener feed additive improves palatability to entice calves to eat starter sooner and in higher amounts.

Aquaculture

Main challenges for Aquaculture:

Oxidation  is a naturally occurring, irreversible process in which lipids in animal feed degrade over time when exposed to air. As feed degrades, it loses nutritional value and becomes rancid, affecting palatability and feed intake, which can lead to a damaging impact on animal health, immunity, nutrition and growth.

Farmed fish and crustaceans experience elevated intracellular levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that cause damage to lipids, proteins and DNA.

Energy spent to counteract oxidative stress leaves less energy for growth. Botanicals can help.

Our Products

THE BENEFICIAL EFFECT OF TruGro® AOX ON EXTENDING SHELF LIFE

TruGro® AOX extends shelf life of aquaculture feed, providing critical antioxidant protection for a variety of commonly used fats & oils across substrates.

THE BENEFICIAL EFFECT OF TruGro® MAX ON BODY WEIGHT IMPROVEMENT

TruGro® MAX promotes growth by reducing the energy and protein expense required to counteract the effect of ROS in the system.  It allows a higher flow of nutrients for meat deposition that results in higher body weight.
