Poultry

Main challenges for Poultry:

Oxidation is a natural process that occurs in nature.  It’s the result of degradation that can occur in feed that’s not stored properly or has been exposed to air for prolonged periods of time.  A consequence of this reaction is that the feed will lose some of its nutritional value and well develop an uncharacteristic smell and taste that can be rejected by the animal.

Across the world, the restricted use of Antibiotic Growth Promoters (AGPs) causes broiler producers a headache.  Many governments have already legislated against their use of or are about to do so.

Broilers will have to expend additional energy to counteract the oxidative stress caused by feed that has spoiled due to elevated intercellular levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that will cause damage to lipids, proteins and DNA.

Inflammatory syndromes may be linked to the use of unsaturated oils as energy sources in poultry feed, especially from vegetable sources. Inflammation is a natural reaction that occurs when reactive molecules from oxidized feed consumed by the broilers comes into contact with tissues in the intestinal tract that can cause damage to the tight junction proteins which serve as a protective barrier. This damage opens up a passage for toxins and microorganisms to invade the inner layers of the intestine, which can compromise the health and growth of the broil.

THE BENEFICIAL EFFECT OF TruGro® AOX ON EXTENDING SHELF LIFE.

TruGro® AOX extends the shelf life of poultry feed. It will provide improved antioxidant protection to the vast array of fats & oils that are commonly used in these products to maintain feed that is wholesome, nutritious and will be readily consumed by the broilers as a part of their diet.

THE BENEFICIAL EFFECT OF TruGro® AR ON REPLACING AGP

A series of detailed in vivo studies in broilers have been performed to characterize the valuable properties of different natural polyphenols, resulting in the selection of some of them to design TruGro® AR to replace and improve the use of antibiotics as growth promoters.

An in vivo study using broilers was conducted to assess the impact a select number of polyphenols had on their growth development in comparison to standard antibiotic growth promoters that are typically used by the industry.

The true mechanism of action of AGP has never been defined. With TruGro we improve a host of digestive systems to create a functionality similar to that of AGP, promoting efficient performance without unwanted chemicals.
